The next phase...
Plans for my first year of retirement included January visits to Masai Mara in Kenya and the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania. In May I headed to France and Spain to spend 2 weeks trekking Spain's Camino Del Norte, the amazing northern coastal route pilgrims follow en route to Santiago de Compostella. The route incorporated visits to San Sebastien, Bilbao, and Santander. My summer travels included a road trip to the Gaspe Bay in Quebec with time spent on Bonaventure Island photographing the iconic diving seabird northern gannet. I complete the travel year at the end of September plying the waters of the world's longest and deepest fjord system - Scoresbysund on the eastern coast of Greenland. Once disembarked from the S/V Rembrandt Van Rijn, I continue my travels in a small camper on Iceland's 1332 km national ring road, Route 1.
